How does filter-press slurry treatment work?
A filter press separates liquid from suspended solids by passing slurry through filtration media. Wet cutting and grinding can produce slurry containing water and fine material. Collection, filtration and final handling of the separated liquid and solids are distinct tasks to define in the project scope.
Understand the slurry source and volume
Describe the cutting or grinding work generating the slurry, the material involved and the expected quantity or production pattern. Include any known contaminants and the project’s handling requirements. A volume estimate should be identified clearly so capacity can be reviewed.
Define collection, treatment and final handling
Tell us how slurry reaches the treatment area and what space, access and utilities are available. The separated liquid and solids still need an agreed destination. Collection, treatment, transport, reuse and disposal should each have a named responsibility in the package.
Common project requirements
- Cutting-project support
- Grinding-project support
- Project-specific slurry management
- Planning for wet-work areas
What to send for a quote
- Source and expected quantity of slurry
- Site access and available space
- Project environmental requirements
- Treatment and disposal responsibilities
Don’t have every detail yet? Tell us what you know. The team can discuss what else is needed.
What affects pricing
- Slurry source, material, quantity and production pattern.
- Collection arrangement, available space, access and treatment requirements.
- Separate-liquid and solids handling, transport, staging and mobilisation.
The office reviews these factors before scope and pricing are agreed. A requested date is subject to confirmed availability.
Planning the work
- Review the slurry source, estimated volumes and the project’s treatment requirements.
- Coordinate collection, equipment space, site access and interfaces with the cutting or grinding works.
- Agree handling of separated liquid and solids and the required project records.
Scope and responsibilities
Separation alone does not establish that water can be reused or discharged, or that solids can be handled as ordinary waste. Provide the project requirements and confirm testing, reuse, transport and disposal responsibilities with the relevant project parties.
